Automatically identify and prioritize cost-saving opportunities in your AWS environment.
Cloud cost optimization is often fragmented across different tools and reports, making it difficult to identify, prioritize, and execute savings opportunities efficiently. Searching for idle resources, outdated snapshots, or inefficient configurations wastes valuable engineering time.
nOps Cost Recommendations is designed for FinOps professionals, CFOs, engineering managers, infrastructure leads, DevOps, and platform engineers seeking one unified place to evaluate and implement cost-saving measures. It provides a single, structured view of your cost-saving opportunities so you don’t have to sift through multiple dashboards or run ad-hoc queries.
Cost Recommendations prioritizes recommendations by effort, helping teams tackle the easiest, highest-impact savings first. Each recommendation links directly to the relevant resources, making it easy to apply optimizations.

What’s New
Now available in nOps Business Contexts+, Cost Optimization Recommendations continuously scans your AWS accounts to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. Recommendations are prioritized based on the amount of effort, risk and cost impact of implementation.
- Savings Summary – Track total actual and potential savings.
- Effort-Based Prioritization – Shows effort required (low, moderate, high) so teams can focus on quick wins first. Export recommendations data into CSV, Report, or Slack format to share and collaborate with team members using your existing workflows.
- Savings by Category – Provides insights into compute, serverless, storage, database, and more.
- Drill-Down Resource Lists – Engineers can jump directly into specific savings actions, like removing idle EC2 snapshots older than 90 days, rightsizing underutilized instances, or identifying low network traffic EC2s.

While finance teams and executives can track overall savings, DevOps and infrastructure engineers can drill down into specific cost-saving actions. The platform dynamically updates and provides a detailed list of affected resources, helping teams to quickly take action.
How it Works
- Open Cost Recommendations under Business Context.
- Review your monthly savings summary and effort-tiered recommendations. Recommendations are assigned an implementation effort based on AWS logic and categorized into one of the levels: Low, Medium, High. This considers:
- Whether a recommendation requires validation from engineering teams.
- Whether implementation of a recommendation may require restarting a resource.
- Whether implementation of a recommendation requires changes in operating system parameters, re-installation of applications, or updating application configuration.
- Whether implementation of a recommendation requires re-writing some parts of your application.
- Drill down to see resources that are driving the highest unnecessary costs.
- Take action on prioritized, low-hanging savings before moving to higher-effort optimizations. You can also override recommendations you don’t want to see again — they move to a separate tab, so you can restore them later if needed.
